Ferns are a favourite of mine, with green feathery leaves, they can leave a resort- like feel around your home and rid the air of harmful toxins like toulene and tylene, deposited in the air from elements such as paint and nail polish.

Peace Lilies, orchids and palms are also your purifying friends and can work their magic amongst smokers and other hidden toxins.

I love walking into a home and feeling the family story. It hangs off the walls, lies on the floor and is thrown over the couch. It’s a personal odyssey, it’s not staged, it hasn’t been copied from a department store, it doesn’t match but it just works!

There is a strong sense of self confidence and character throughout these homes. Pieces have been collected through life, representing events, milestones and history. I use these homes as a great example of self expression and to walk away from the bed setting in the shop window with the matching side tables, from the loungeroom package including a coffee table and bookshelf! Go hunting, sorting, thrifting and rumaging! Grab a piece full of character and history, something you can relate too, something that may have a story. Here’s some eclectic inspo……

It adds a soft touch to anyroom and there’s just so much inspiration to draw from. A little DIY can mean using what you’ve got, jazzing up a chair or giving a table a complete new look. ‘Dipping’ in pastel transforms any piece, you just need to look past the dirt and scratches when you see a chair on the side of the road. Rescue it from landfill and be inspired right here……!!!
