This months issue of Real Living magazine features our very own Hmong Hill Tribe Bag!!!!
I love this bag for many reasons and was so happy to have it featured with the ever so adorable, Deb-editor of Real Living magazine! For me, it’s about providing a functional accessory with a story of courage, upcycling, creativity and individuality. It is not mass produced, it is a one off, handcrafted piece of fabric art! It allows you to support fairtrade enabling the Hmong Hill tribe to live a sustainable life through their handicraft. This ever so talented tribe have upcycled baby carriers and crafted them into handbags. I have blogged about it here- Baby Carrier to a Handbag-now that’s upcycling! In store now!
The vintage fabric for these embroided pouches are collected from the sleeves of Hmong jackets.
Patchwork perfect- upcyled baby carrier
Maybe a splash of embroided fluro?
What ever your style, each bag has a greater purpose……..
From babies……..
to bags………………….
I love them all!!
